SPACL - Research
SPACL faculty and students carry out state of the art research in Signal and Image Processing, Communication Systems, Source Coding/Compression, Channel Coding/Error Control and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Current projects in source coding include applications of JPEG2000 to medical imagery, surveillance systems, and digital cinema. Projects in channel coding run the gamet of modern code design and decoding algorithms for turbo and LDPC codes, as well as signal processing and coding for magnetic storage. Communication research is being excuted for optical channels. MRI research is focused on pulse sequence design and image reconstruction using compressed sensing technics. Additional projects are focused on computational sensing and bio-informatics. Please see individual pages under the PEOPLE section for more details.
